Visitation for William S. “Bill” Bullock, 96, of Raytown, MO, will be held from 10:00 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, 5055 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133, services and interment will follow.
Mr. Bullock died, May 16, 2015, at his home in Raytown, MO. He was born September 5, 1918 in Urich, Missouri, the son of Elphus and Beulah Bullock. He grew up in Belton, Missouri, graduating from Belton High school in 1935. Bill excelled at basketball, and loved to play. He met his wife June (Evans) in school and they were married on April 6, 1940, spending 65 years together prior to her death.
He worked in several capacities from delivering ice, reading gas meters, installing weather stripping, and putting in gas service. Hardly a trip could be taken without Bill pointing to houses he helped build, service, or read meters. After serving as a Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946, he returned to work with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company, traveling across the country as sales rep and procurement agent. He retired after over 25 years at Panhandle in 1981. In retirement, he loved to garden and spend time with his family. His tomatoes and green peppers were highly sought after and always enjoyed.
Survivors include his grandson, Evan Durnal and wife Amanda of Mission, KS, his two great-granddaughters, and many beloved neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters – Virginia Ray and Maxine Goddard, his wife June, infant daughter, and daughter Dr. Betty J. Bullock.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials for the Dr. Betty J. Bullock Memorial Scholarship at Johnson County Community College Foundation 207 Carlsen Center, 12345 College Boulevard, Overland Park, KS 66210 or to Crossroads Hospice.

I am sad to read of the loss of Bill Bullock, a very dear and upright man. My heartfelt condolences to all who will miss him, especially his beloved grandson, Evan. May Bill’s memory be a blessing for this world.
