Nancy B. Nylander passed away on April 13, 2024 at her residence in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born on January 26, 1929 to Carl Lucien Brumback and Anna Keehner Brumback in Winchester, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Nylander, her son, Carl Nylander and her brother, Thurman Brumback.
Nancy moved to Washington, D.C. after finishing high school and met Jack while they both worked at the FBI. They married, moved to Maryland and raised their three children. Eventually they moved to Charles Town, West Virginia where they lived for many years. Nancy always considered West Virginia her “true home.”
Nancy loved puzzles, Sudoku, animals, reading, traveling and her church. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Nylander (husband Gary Ashley) and Anita Nylander (husband John Perry); and daughter-in-law, Julie Nylander. She is also survived by her brother, Carlin Brumback, and sister, Janice Fletcher. She has several grandchildren: Brian, Lisa Jeanne, Nikki, Steven, Josh and Will.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in Charles Town, West Virgnia.
