Shirley Ann (Henry) Bohlman

Shirley Ann (Henry) Bohlman died peacefully on June 3, 2024, at Ignite Medical Resorts at the age of 85. Shirley was born February 19, 1939, the youngest of 11 children, in Mercer County, Missouri to Jonathan Archie and Gladys Marie (Hendrex) Henry. She was raised in north Missouri and came to Kansas City to attend beauty school. She married John Horace Bohlman on May 28, 1960, and raised four children, Brenda, Bruce, Barry, and Beverly.

Shirley enjoyed reading, quilting and other kinds of needle work as well as gardening.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband John; her parents, and nine siblings. She is survived by one sister Norma Jean (Patrick) Switlik, Hamilton, MO; her children Brenda Bohlman, Kansas City; Bruce Bohlman (Tamara), Lee’s Summit; Barry Bohlman (Laura), Kansas City; and Beverly Bohlman, Kansas City; five grandchildren Sarah Carboneau (John); Claire Konecek (Brad); Nathan; Bryce; and Evan; four great grandchildren; 44 nieces and nephews and many more great nieces and great nephews.

There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14th, 2024, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. Raytown, MO 64133, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family invites to you make a memorial gift to the American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.

    I will miss you. You were only 10 years old when I was born, so we kinda grew up together. I’ll always remember playing Kick the Can and you and Mary standing in the wagon giving us free concerts. Your laugh was so infectious. Say Hi to grandma, grandpa, mom, and all the others. LOVE
