Regina Marie Henderson (née Wernimont), aged 76, passed away peacefully in Columbia, Missouri on August 1, 2024. She is survived by her husband Frank Henderson, children John Henderson and Catherine Hall, and grandchildren, Jordan and Hunter Hall.
Regina was born on April 29, 1948 in Rochester, New York to Joseph and Lorraine Wernimont. She was the second oldest of seven children. Regina graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Tennessee in 1966 and studied Respiratory Therapy at Jackson State Community College before becoming a Registered Nurse.
Regina was passionate about genealogy. She worked with several historical organizations and contributed to a book about Hamilton County, Florida where she lived for many years.
Per her request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Stroke Association.
My condolences to the Family. Although Regina was my first cousin we lost touch when her family moved from NJ. We reconnected again several years ago when my aunt took ill and kept an active phone relationship since. I’m so glad I went to visit her when she and Frank moved to MO. I’ll always remember her dry yet biting wit.We had many laughs together.
Stephen and the Bronski Family
Our most sincere sympathy to Frank,Catherine and family and John. We were fortunate to get to know Regina when she and Frank moved to Missouri. I especially want to commend Catherine for being there to assist her parents regardless of the need. John, I know you would have been too—-just too many miles to go to the doctor appointments or grocery store. May she rest in peace.
Catherine I am so sorry for your loss. You and the family are in my prayers.
Cathrine, John and Frank – please know you have never left our hearts or our prayers. You have Henderson family that love you –
My sincere condolences, I am the youngest of the Wernimont family in Belgium. Although I didn’t know Regina, I just found a letter at my grandmother’s house form 1997 where she asked for information about out family tree.
I hope Regina found other members that did answer and would like to apologise that we never answered, like I said, I just found the letter and my grandmother couldn’t understand it because she can’t read or speak English.
Rest in peace, Regina
