Evelyn M. Hromas

Evelyn M. Hromas, 88, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away August 17, 2024. She was born March 21, 1936 in Lexington, Nebraska to Ezra and Florence Margritz. On November 16, 1953, she married Don Hromas. They raised their four children Mick, Alan, Terrie and Donita in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. Evelyn was a long-time employee for the Lincoln Public School System, working and managing the cafeteria for many years. Evelyn had a cabin in Colorado, that she greatly enjoyed. She also had an incredible talent for crafting and created many special items for her family.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Don; parents and sibling Jo Elaine Wood.

She is survived by sons Mick Hromas (BJ), Frankfort, IN; Alan Hromas (Teresa), York, NE; daughters Terrie Fangmeier (Dale), Lincoln, NE; and Donita Zehr (Doug), Lee’s Summit, MO; sister Janice Murphy (Walt), CA; nine grandchildren AJ, Jake (Ashley), Alex (Kelli), Erica (Jon), Anna, Jonathan, Chris (Colleen), Megan (ET) and Traci (Coleman); along with 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10am at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:30am, Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
