Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Jacob Rodgers, age 36, of Kansas City, Missouri, on October 24, 2024. He was surrounded by his family. Known to those close to him as “Ronnie,” he was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, and friend. Ronnie’s life was filled with moments of love, laughter, and a spirit that touched the lives of many.
Born on April 26, 1988, in Salina, Kansas and raised in Blue Springs, Missouri, Ronnie grew up with a kind heart and gentle spirit. His laughter was infectious, and he had a special way of making people feel seen and valued. Ronnie is survived by his mother, Cathy Rodgers; his sister, Angie Ballew (Tara Kelley); his brother, Michael Rodgers; and his daughters, Makayla Featherston and Raelynn Rodgers, all of Kansas City, Mo. He is also survived by his father, David Rodgers, and his son, Atticus Rodgers, of Lake Kiowa, Tx, as well as friends and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who will carry him in their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Ballew Jr. and Barbara Cowles, his paternal grandfather, Ronald W. Rodgers, and an infant daughter, Kadence.
Although he brought light to others, Ronnie also faced deep personal battles. He struggled with addiction for much of his adult life—a relentless challenge that ultimately took him from us too soon. Addiction is a disease that affects countless lives, and while it can take someone from us, it does not diminish their worth or the love they shared. We hope Ronnie’s passing serves as a reminder to others facing similar battles: you are not alone, and there is always hope, even in the darkest of times.
Rest in peace, Ronnie. Your light, laughter, and love will never be forgotten. You are deeply missed and will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God.” — Romans 8:38-39

To all of Ronnie’s family, I sincerely am sorry for your loss. We were friends with Cathy & David back in the good ole days and our boys played baseball together. In fact, Jordan informed us of his passing. He had a sweet disposition and we’re sorry for his personal struggles. At least he is now at peace. Love and prayers,
