Anita Maureen Goldsberry

Anita Maureen Goldsberry, 69, of Independence, Missouri, passed away November 27, 2024 at her home from cancer.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 7, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 705 W Walnut St, Independence, MO 64050. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, MO.

Anita was born June 22, 1955 in Lovell, Wyoming. She had several occupations: her first job was a dishwasher in Butte, MT; then laundry worker at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City where she met her husband, Gary; she then was a unit secretary at the hospital in Utah; moved to Missouri then was a school bus driver, dispatcher, assistant manager, and then terminal school bus manager for Durham School Services; eligibly specialist for the State of MO; and then back to buses and dispatch for Share Fare. She enjoyed writing- poems and stories. In her free time she enjoyed crafting and crocheting and listening to all types of music.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Onder and Effie Mayes; two sons, Chadwick and Nicholas Goldsberry; and brother-in-law, Mike Durtsche.

Survivors include: husband, Gary Goldsberry; daughter, Kellie (Will) Myers; daughter-in-law, Maria (Todd) Goldsberry; grandchildren: Anisa (Austin) Milton, Antonio McNack, Chadwick Goldsberry Jr., and Skyye (Gary) Moore; great-grandchild, Maria Bowman-Miller; four brothers and their spouses; two sisters; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
