Second generation Irish, Margie was the oldest of five.  She graduated Loyola University in Chicago with a teaching degree. Margie fell in love with Jerome Francis Compernolle, married & moved to Kansas City. Together they raised three girls and two boys. Once the children were out of the house, she attended KU where she earned an MSW. Playing tennis, bridge, and following Notre Dame football was a passion. In her later years Margie enjoyed the Food Network and as a lifelong Chiefs fan choosing winning Fantasy Football picks. She also got a kick out of discovering new restaurants. Margie is survived by her youngest sister Mary and her brother Jerry’s dog, Star. Celebrating the good memories are her children Regina, Patrice, Lisa, Jerry, Paul & their significant others; her grandchildren who called her Honey -Jake, Jesse, Cara, Kalen, Schyler, Hannah, & Kaitlin; and the great grandchildren who called her Honey GG- Lexi, Eliot, Leon, Lilian, & Ragan.

Margie passed away peacefully as her son Jerry tickled the bottom of her feet.

Private family services to be held at a later date.

    Dear Paul and Compernolle family,
    I am deeply saddened to hear about Margie’s passing. She welcomed into the family with open arms from the moment we first met. I will always cherish the warm conversations we had shared, and the wonderful times spent together during her visits and Wisconsin.

    Margie’s delicious recipes forever hold a special place in my heart. I admired her passion and skill in fantasy football which brought so much joy to her. Her vibrant spirit and kindness will be deeply missed.

    Please accept my heartfelt condolences doing this difficult time. My thoughts are with you all as you navigate this profound loss.
