Harold Dean Langford passed away on November 11, 2024, in Blue Springs, Missouri, at the age of 73. He was born June 1, 1951. Harold lived a life full of laughter, love, and countless adventures. He was the son of Vernon Harold and Mary Jo Gard (Parish) Langford. Harold was a proud graduate of Van Horn High School, Class of 1969 and proudly served in the Army. After his military service, he drove commercially for Nabisco and Holmes Freight Lines, along with working as a police officer in Grain Valley, MO. Harold was a repo man, general salesman and concrete finisher with “Dad” Dwight Gard and uncle “Red” Gard. Now you have a glimpse of Harold’s incredible wisdom. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking up anything Cajun, barbecuing and smoking anything on the grill and countless hours reminiscing with family and friends.
He will be fondly remembered for his years of volunteering at St. Mary’s Medical Center and his dedication to help others in need. He had a knack for always making people laugh and his infectious smile could light up any room.
He now joins his devoted love Nanca P. Langford, as well as his parents; grandmother Ninni (who raised him); sisters Sharon Lavon Gricher and Linda Sue Beck.
Harold is survived by his sisters Brenda Bradford of Bossier City, LA; Lisa K. Hammond of Oklahoma City, OK; and Lisa Ann Young (Merle “Red”) of Independence, MO; four children Rochelle R. Hicks (Keith) of Grain Valley, MO; Garry Lingenfelter (Langford) of Belton, MO; MyLissa Grace (James) of Oak Grove, MO and Michael Langford. He most proudly leaves behind nine grandchildren Dalton (Amanda), Zac, Garrett, Seth, Savanna, Annaliese, MaKenzie, Elliott, and Emmerson; five great grandchildren Emersyn, Acre, Olivia, Lily and Carter; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Harold leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to live on through those that he met, and he never met a stranger. The world is a much darker place without him, but thankfully he taught us all to shine a bit brighter.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
I hope you will forever watch over me. I miss you so much dad. I love you
