Donald Delbert Young

Donald Delbert Young born July 3,1950 is now at peace with Jesus having passed away on March 25, 2025.

Don was preceded in death by his father Delbert Young and mother Winifred (Dorman)Young, brother David Young, sisters: Kathy Pfeiler, Sandy Thompson, and Joyce Calvert.

Sisters-in-laws: Patty Young and Edie Young and also his little buddy, Grandson, Timothy Grant. Surviving children: Tammy (David) Grant and Patrick Young.

Grandchildren: Gracen and David Grant. Surviving siblings: Arthur (Butch) Young, Janice Urton, Ralph (Pete) Young, Cheryl White, and Robin (Eugene) Prince, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Heaven gained a great man. Don was tough as nails, a Marine through and through, but he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Don never liked having his picture taken either, so if you have one of him smiling, count yourself lucky.

Don quit school after 8th grade and at the age of 14 he entered Job Corps. When he turned 17, he enlisted in the Marines and was sent to Vietnam.

After serving his country, he came back to Columbia where he met his wife Jean they married on April 13, 1972, and would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this year.

Don’s favorite past time was taking care of his truck and yard, and spending time with his friends in his mancave.

He will truly be missed but always in our hearts.
