Penni Lu Prewitt Robinette, 68, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Penni was born on August 4, 1956, to Maxine and Chester J. Prewitt of Lee’s Summit.
Penni graduated from Lee’s Summit High School and attended Park College, earning a B.A. in Communications. She also attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She worked at Unity Village as the Director of Sunday School and had a passion for the children. She was a disc jockey for a radio station in Topeka, Kansas and worked as a debt collector for Nationwide Insurance and Berman and Rabin Law Firm in Stillwell, Kansas. Penni used her creative talents and opened a dance studio to teach girls to dance. Penni loved working from home with Creative Memories and lastly as a Scentsy Representative, taking good care of her loyal and new customers alike.
Penni married Daniel Robinette who she’d known since second grade. They made a life together and lived in her childhood home. She loved her grandchildren, Danny Edwards BBQ, and eating out at any good restaurant. Taco night at El Potro was one of her favorites, as well as any of the homemade dishes her husband made for her.
Penni and Dan found a new church home at First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit where they were welcomed with open arms. Penni became a Sunday School teacher and loved being surrounded by kids. They will always be in her heart. Penni’s family thanks the church for their support through her illness.
Penni is preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, Lola Powers. She is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Robinette of the home; stepson Timothy Daniel Robinette (Alissa) and grandchildren, Colton, Carson, Zoey, and Timothy Daniel Robinette Jr.; stepdaughter Lisa Marie Robinette (Jason Jolivet) and granddaughters Jaidyn and Tayla Jolivet of Arizona.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 26, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit, 1625 NW O’Brien Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. The service will begin at 10:00am, followed by a cookie reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested for First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit.

I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family to find comfort in knowing that Penni is at peace now and her pain is gone. I pray that your faith and belief will strengthen all of you with the memories of all the blessings you shared together, and with the knowledge of how many lives she touched, especially the impact on all the children she taught.

Pennies was one very unique and energtic person. The world is not as bright.
A friend and big sister my entire childhood and a fantastic neighbor, Penni is in so many of our families memories. I know she is back at the kitchen table with her and my mom, visiting and laughing. Prayers for Mac, Tim and the rest of her family during this difficult time. She made an indelible impression on everyone she met.

Mac, Dan and I are so sorry for your loss. Penni touched my life for such a short time. I am sad for the things we will miss out on doing together. I quickly grew to love her. I am so missing her.

Dan, I am so sorry for your loss. When I met Penni in fourth grade at Westview, she invited to her house to play. I met-up with her again later in middle school. I remember her big smile, always friendly and enthusiastic. She will certainly be missed.
Dan, I will miss her so much, I enjoyed talking with her about scents and when I worked with her. My prayers are with you.
