Steven Ray Mattingly, 48, of Independence, Missouri, passed away September 14, 2025 at his home in Independence, Missouri.
Steven was born August 23, 1977 in Franklin, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Kriste’ Anette Mattingly on August 25, 2001 in Independence, MO.
Steven worked in Independence for 30 years as a Welder and Fabricator. He was an avid fisherman and loved playing the guitar. In his free time, he would spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Steven was the guy you could call for anything at anytime- your own personal 411/911. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Dale and Judy Alexander; grandparents; two grandchildren; and dog, Ruckus.
Survivors include: wife, Kriste Mattingly; four children, Natasha Mattingly, Autumn Mattingly, Sumar (Brian) Kelley, and Steven (Savannah) Mattingly Jr.; grandchildren who gave him a reason, Avree, Steven III, Nicholas, Marlee, Archer, and Isaac; brother, Richard Alexander; sister, Crystal Bond; parents-in-law, Vic and Debi Day; brother-in-law, Trey (Heather) Day; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; and one great-niece; and dogs, Bella, Gilbert and Black.

My absolute beautiful nephew, ugh I was praying everyday that we could see each other again, but God wanted u home. Words can’t express how much I love you & knowing I’ll see u again in heaven does give me some peace. U always had the biggest heart & your smile always made me smile. Love u nephew till I see u again ❤️❤️
