Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Barbara Gail Gold, 88, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Her final moments were tender and full of feeling- just like the life she lived.
Barbara was deeply knowledgeable, well-read, and curious about the world. She engaged with thoughtful perspective and a sharp mind, always seeing things as they were and offering advice rooted in truth and experience.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Pamela Brito and son-in-law Andreś Brito of Lenexa, with whom she lived for the past 6 years, and her son Gregory Orloff and daughter-in-law Irma Orloff of Overland Park. She was a loving grandmother to Anthony Serrano and Andrea Serrano. Andrea with her fiancé Jeremy Carabajal reside in Fairway, Kansas. Anthony and his wife Linda live in Louisburg with their three children, Wyatt (9), Cade (5), and Adeline (2), Barbara’s cherished great-grandchildren.
Barbara’s legacy lives on in the love of her family, the wisdom she shared, and the countless lives she enriched with her honesty, compassion, and strength of character.
We will miss her deeply. But we will carry her with us – in the way we show up for family and in the way we choose kindness every day.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 29 at 2:00 PM at The Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church, 9400 Pflumm Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215.
