Elaine Bossola Byrd Robison

Elaine Bossola Byrd Robison, 84, of Independence, MO, passed away on October 7, 2025. Born in Overland, MO, to Sylvia and Raymond Bossola, she graduated from All Souls grade school and Mercy High School. She married Ron Byrd, started a family, and relocated to the Kansas City area.

As a divorced mother of three girls, she earned her physical therapy assistant degree while working full time. Strong and independent to the end, she was a master shopper who was proud of finding a great deal. Her holiday family gatherings were full of thoughtful gifts, good food, laughter, and an occasional tap-dance performance. She loved having her family around her.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Raymond Bossola, and her husband, Ken Robison. Left to share memories are her three girls: Christine (Tim), Carolyn, and Kathleen (Bryon). She was devoted to her grandchildren: Nicole, Eddie, Steven, Lucas, Chloe, and Greta. Her great-grandchildren brought her joy in her later years: Kennyboy, Myah, Leah, and little Eddie. She is survived by her brother, Raymond, and sisters, Laurie and Toni, along with her nieces and nephews. Also mourning her loss are her best friend of more than 60 years, Jan Denness, and her former tap-dancing troupe at Studio 3-V.

The family will memorialize her in a private ceremony at a later date, when they can be together to laugh and share stories. In lieu of flowers, donations to Independence Meals on Wheels would be greatly appreciated; their amazing volunteers were her lifeline this past year that allowed her to live on her own when her health was declining. May she rest in peace, free from pain.
