Elaine Louise (Schreiber) Schollmeyer, 78, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Oak Tree Villas retirement home.
Elaine was born on April 29, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, to the late Harry and Eva Louise (Giboney) Schreiber. In 1954, the family moved to Jefferson City where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Jefferson City Senior High School in 1965 and went on to pursue higher education at Central Missouri State College and Lincoln University.
Elaine married James Walsh Woodman in 1969. Together they raised their two children and shared their lives until his passing in 1994. Elaine was deeply supportive of Jim’s local political career and remained actively involved in civic organizations throughout their marriage. An artist at heart, Elaine found joy and expression through painting and ceramics.
In 1994, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Edward Schollmeyer, with whom she spent three decades until his death in 2023, helping to raise his two children from his previous marriage. In her spare time with Ron, Elaine enjoyed fishing, traveling in their RV, and doting on her beloved dogs.
She is survived by her children Julie Woodman (Robert) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brian Woodman (Zoe) of Bloomington, Indiana; her stepchildren Stacy (Schollmeyer) Foust (Warren) of Ladera Ranch, California, and Robert Schollmeyer (Elizabeth) of Jefferson City; her brothers Kirk Schreiber (Sharon) and Mark Schreiber (Debbie), both of Jefferson City; her half-sister, Linda Parker (Donald) of Covington, Louisiana; many nieces and nephews; and her six grandchildren, who brought joy to her later years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Eva Louise Schreiber, and her husbands, James Woodman and Ronald Schollmeyer.
There will be a private Celebration of Life gathering for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to Jefferson City Animal Shelter.

Elaine was a kind and dear soul who will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her. She was a vibrant presence through our school years and our reunion years and was always there for family and friends. I will keep her and her family in my prayers and extend a special prayer for her brother Mark.
My deepest condolences upon Elaine’s passing. She was fun, intelligent, and always found good things to say. She will be missed.
Sorry to hear of her passing. I was married to her daughter for only a couple years, but she was like a friend to me. She remembered my birthday every year because it was 5 days after Ron’s and sent me a happy birthday over facebook even though we werent friends on it.
I think by remembering MY birthday, it helped her remember Rons.
