Lynn Ann (David) Mowder

Lynn Ann (David) Mowder, age 69, passed away on December 1, 2025, in Olathe, KS.

Lynn was born on January 11, 1956, in Wichita, KS, to Kenneth Donald David and Martha Louise (Taylor) David. She had one brother, Jeffrey Paul David. In 1962, the family moved to Topeka, KS where Ken attended Washburn University Law School. She attended Central Park grade school. In 1968, the family moved to Independence, KS where Lynn attended Independence Middle School and High School, graduating as a Junior in 1973. From 1974 through 1976, she attended Independence Community College. On May 20, 1978, Lynn married John Paul Mowder who worked at Dixon Industries in Coffeyville, KS and Lynn worked at First Federal Savings and Loan Association. Their first child, Christopher David Mowder, was born on December 15, 1984. Their second child, Karen Rochelle Mowder, was born on October 18, 1988. John and Lynn were divorced on September 12, 1994. Lynn attended Pittsburg State University from 1998 through 2001, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught at Independence High School and Altoona-Midway Middle/High School before moving to Topeka, KS. In 2010, she worked at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Bureau of Family Health as an Administrative Specialist to the Bureau Director and Bureau staff until her retirement on March 28, 2025.

Lynn was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Paul David in 1998, her parents, Judge Kenneth David in 2006 and Martha David in 2014. Survivors are Christopher and Alicia Mowder of Overland Park, KS and Karen Mowder of Lenexa, KS and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Addison Mowder.

A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka, KS 66611 on Sunday, December 7, at 2:00pm.
