Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Joshua “Josh” Wiley, 44, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away on January 20, 2026, in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Born on April 20, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri, Josh grew up in the area and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1999. He remained a proud member of the community throughout his life.
Josh dedicated nearly three decades of his life to Sonic, where he worked for 28 years. For ten of those years, he served as a manager. Known for his reliability and generosity with his time, Josh was always quick to step in and cover shifts whenever needed. His coworkers and fellow managers often referred to him as a favorite among the team.
Josh had a deep love of anything related to Superman and Doctor Who. He enjoyed attending Comic Cons. Outside of his interests in comics and science fiction, Josh cherished time spent outdoors. He enjoyed long walks, camping trips, and exploring nature—activities that brought him peace and fulfillment.
More than anything else, Josh valued friendship. He was known for his kindness, charisma, sense of humor, and ability to truly listen. To many of his friends, he wasn’t just a companion—he was family. His willingness to help others at any time left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Josh was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” E. Wiley and Barbara “Barb” L. Wiley.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date to honor Josh’s memory.
As reflected in John 15:13: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” May Joshua’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and loyalty.

The world lost the sweetest of souls when you departed it, my friend. So many great memories of working with you for both John, and I. May your family and all who loved you find peace of mind and heart in this great time of sorrow.
Wiley- what a light you were on this earth! A hell of a guy and a hell of a fight you put up. Even in the midst of suffering you still filled the world with so much joy. Thank you for shining that light of yours so bright.
In the words of the Doctor- “ You can miss me for five minutes a day. And you’d better do it properly. You’d better be sad. I expect my five. But all the rest of the time, all the rest of the time,
Every single second, you just get the hell on with it.”
Until we meet again, my friend.
So sorry to hear the news.
Rest in peace now. You were a friend to all.
