Carolyn Sue “Susie” Beymer

Carolyn Sue “Susie” Beymer (James), 80, passed away on January 24, 2026, in Independence, Missouri. Born on March 14, 1945, in Gallatin, Missouri, she lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to her family and a spirited personality that left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Carolyn was the daughter of Ova and Evelyn (Curtis) James and grew up alongside her brothers Roger, Bill, and Larry. Her strong-willed nature and sassy attitude were evident from an early age—traits that would become hallmarks of her character throughout her life. She was known for her love of crafts, fierce independence and steadfast refusal to be told what to do, embracing life on her own terms with humor and heart.

A devoted Baptist, Carolyn’s faith was a guiding force in her life. Her loyalty to those closest to her was unmatched, and she poured her energy into caring for her family with deep love and dedication. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with affection, wisdom, and laughter.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Laura Johnson and Chandra Weatherly; grandchildren Megan Johnson, Brianna Williamson, Spencer Campbell, Zachary Johnson, Preston Campbell, Emily Campbell, Chase Johnson, and Christa Pyle; as well as twelve great-grandchildren who brought immense happiness to her later years. She also leaves behind her brothers Roger (Sandy) James and Larry (Lynn) James.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Ova and Evelyn James; brother Bill (Debbie) James; daughter Amy James.

Services will be held at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 802 NW Vesper St, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015 on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at LifePoint Crossing, 4116 NW R D Mize Rd, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015 to follow.

Carolyn’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her strength of spirit and boundless love. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and cherished her.

    Her memory will live in us she will be missed dearly and she will never be forgotten I will always remember GMA laughter and her smile and always making sure everyone was ok
