Rea Earleen “Realeen” Duncan

Rea Earleen “Realeen” Duncan, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on August 10, 1941, in Oakland, CA, to Earl and Lolita, both of whom have preceded her in death.

Rea is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Duncan; brother, Earl “Corky”; daughters Jeanette Buckland-Graham “Jenny” and Tamara Havens “Tammy”; embraced children of her heart, Adam Gary and Mona Eileen; three stepdaughters, Susan, Teena, and Cheri; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other cherished family members.

She is preceded in death by her loving brother, Carl “Steve”; son, Jerry Dyne; stepson, Bruce; and daughter of her heart, Tina.

Rea leaves behind a large, loving family of whom she was immensely proud. Known for her boundless love and generosity, she didn’t know a stranger and touched many lives along her path. Her generosity of spirit, compassion, and love will forever be remembered.

Visitation and memorial service to honor Rea’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Heartland Cremation and Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO followed by a grave side service at Leavenworth National Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share cherished memories.

    I know it seems impossible that the world could keep turning without Rea in it. She was bedrock, sanctuary, and safety to many people in many moments. I’m grateful for the moments that she was mine. Love and prayers to the family.
