Betty Herberger

Betty Herberger, age 97, of Kansas CityMissouri , passed away peacefully on 04/25/2026 from Heart failure. Born on 06/05/1928 in Waverly, Missouri. A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.  

Betty Catherine Fuller Herberger, 97, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on April 25, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1928, in Waverly, Missouri, to Jerry Fuller and Ida Mae Chapman.

Betty lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, community, and creativity. She began her career as a nurse at Staton Hospital at 13 years old, where she lived and cared for others with compassion and dedication. While working there, she met the love of her life Coney Herberger.

She married and moved to the Herberger family farm where she hosted family and friends almost every weekend. Later she became a small business owner, operating a ceramic shop in Carrollton and eventually owning Fashions Unlimited, where she shared her love of style with the community.

She had a deep love for life’s simple joys. Betty enjoyed dancing, playing the guitar, and golfing. Even after moving from the farm she kept the family together by taking their grandson with her and Coney to meet her sisters and their families every weekend in Marshall, Missouri where they would eat at the Golden Corral and then shop at Walmart.

Betty was actively involved in her community. She participated in 4-H activities, including cooking and sewing, and was one of the founding members of the Carrollton Country Club.

Family was the center of Betty’s life. She is survived by her daughter, Deloris Catherine Knott; her son-in-law, C. Robert Knott; her grandson, Tyler Austin Knott and his wife, Amanda Jane; and her great-granddaughter, Rowan Elizabeth. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond “Coney” Fredrick Herberger; her sisters, Mildred, Dorothy, Evelyn, Ruth, Lorene, Iola, and Nelma; and two infant brothers.

Betty will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the generations she brought together and the lives she touched.
