Iva Sappingfield, age 36, of Harrisonville Missouri , passed away peacefully on 03/12/2026 from Severe Heart Failure. Born on May, 19, 1989.
Iva Genine “Iva Gigi” Sappingfield came into the world like a storm and had a very stormy life for the first few years. She was on a helicopter ride from Sioux City to University of Nebraska when she was just 2 months old. The doctors told us she wouldn’t live to be the age of 3. She went to her heavenly home at 36 years old, 33 years longer than the doctors told us. They said after she surpassed 3 years old, they said she would never walk, talk or crawl. They were right about one, she never crawled! She was strong and determined to try everything. Iva fought a good fight the last two years with her severe heart failure. Iva made a lot of friends and both of the Celebrations of Life (Harrisonville, MO & Sioux City, IA proved that! She loved Barney & Rugrats movies & books and loved to tease people. She said Hi to everyone and everywhere she went and her laughter was contagious!
Iva was preceded in death by Gary D. Sappingfield, Daddy Jay & Constance (Brown) McDole, Maternal Grandparents Eldon & Dorothy Sappingfield, Paternal Grandparents, . He is survived by Alison (David) Hackathorn, Mommy, Cody (Ashley) McDole, Plattsburg, MO, Eliot (Stephanie) Sappingfield, Brother, Amy (Troy) Beam, Sgt. Bluff.
It was such an honor to know your sweet Iva, she is in my heart forever. I love you Iva, thank you for being my friend.
Iva made such an impact in my life and I feel beyond blessed and grateful that she became a part of our family! Her huge contagious smile is something I will always treasure!! Even though us still here on Earth will miss her it’s amazing to know she in Heaven pain free and we will see her again someday!! Love you always Iva!!! 💜
A beautiful child, an angel and a gift from God. Iva made me laugh, made me cry but most of all filled my heart with love. I’ll never forget the first day I met Iva, she said “Dave my friend” . Now she is at home in peace.
