Charlotte Marie Swoffer

Charlotte Marie Swoffer, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend whose kindness and love touched generations of lives.

Charlotte was born on February 1, 1939, in Rupert, Idaho, to Charlie and Loretta (Allen) Nickerson. She carried a caring spirit throughout her life and was deeply devoted to both her family and her community.
Charlotte retired from the Kansas City School District after many years as a beloved first grade teacher. She dedicated her life to helping children learn and grow, carrying that same nurturing spirit into every part of her family life. Charlotte especially adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy.

Charlotte will be remembered for her gentle heart, her dedication to education, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she helped shape both in the classroom and at home.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karma Lynn Tucker and Frederick “Rick” Tucker, Marla Joy Terrell and Vertrence Terrell, and Tonya D. Coldiron and Phillip Coldiron; along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Charles Swoffer, and her son, Kevin Charles Swoffer.

Her memory will forever be treasured by those who loved her.
