Doris Lavone (Munson) Davis

Doris Lavone (Munson) Davis, age 91 of Kansas City, MO passed away from Alzheimers on May 12, 2026 at Trustwell Living of Raytown MO, where she had been a resident for 5 1/2 years.

Doris was born Sept 12,1934 in Brunswick MO, to William and Eugenie Munson. She moved to Kansas City MO in her early years and attended Woodland Elementary and Manuel High School. She remained the rest of her life in the KC area.

Her work career consisted of being a switchboard operator/receptionist. She loved working the PBX switchboard. It may be old school now, but it took some skill to do it right. Starting in 1952 she worked at Hoffman Buick for 6yrs, Bill Allen Chevrolet for 8yrs, then was employed by Fruehauf Trailers for 23yrs before retiring.

She enjoyed going to the Lake of the Ozarks, where she and her late husband, Lewis, bought a cabin and spent a lot of time fishing and just taking a break from real life. She also enjoyed making quilts and pillow cases to which she shared with family. Her favorite past time was spending time with her grandkids. She loved and spoiled them to a fault.

Survivors include, son, Charles R Davis of Overland Park KS, daughter, Jana L (Davis) Huerter and husband, Ben, of Kansas City MO, sister, Elizabeth Dodson of Richmond MO; four grandchildren, Michael, Charles (Chuckie), Karen, and Peter; five great grandchildren, Gabriella, Kylee, Lan, Dylan, and Ashton. Plus many family and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 1pm on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Smithville Memorial Cemetery in Smithville, MO.
