Ruby Mae Wood

Ruby Wood, age 94, of Pilot Grove Missouri , passed away peacefully on 06/14/2026 from Alzheimer’s dementia. Born on 09/06/1931 in Macon County.

Ruby Mae Smallwood Wood left her earthly home to join her husband and other family members in heaven on June 14,2026. She was born at home to Russell Smallwood and Alberta Hayes Smallwood. The first daughter of a family of nine children, she helped her mother greatly and raising her children. A November 20, 1949 she married Emmett Murray Wood known as Woody by friends. They were the parents of three daughters and one son up in Northern Missouri before moving to PilotGrove, Missouri. Ruby was very active in the local church the Pilot Grove Baptist, as well as always contributing to any bake sales going on for the school at locally and helping out in Sunday school classes at the church.. Ruby had a great fondness for gardening and love to take care of the flowers that she grew around her own, especially lilac. She and her husband moved to Columbia, Missouri after retirement and started attending the Calvary Heritage Baptist Church. There, Ruby continued to teach Sunday school and also join the ladies quilting club making quotes for those in need never losing her love of helping others anyways that she could Ruby was proceeded in death by her beloved husband and her son Emmett, Samuel Wood known as Sammy she survived by her three daughters Wanda, Sue, Christina, Anne, and Rosemary Marie with multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren to the testament of her family lineage.Herlove of jokes and pranks and easy laughter, and loving to dance down the
aisles will be sorely missed those who knew her. In lieu of flowers she ask back to make a donation to the Calvary Heritage Baptist Church located in Columbia, Missouri at 1703 W. Worley St..

Ruby was preceded in death by Husband, Emmett, Murray Wood known as Woody Son Emmett, Samuel Wood known as Sammy All of her parents, grandparents and siblings have went before her., . He is survived by Wanda Sue Kreitel, Christina Anne Templeton, Rosemary Marie Andt, Multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial will be held on 06/20/2026 at Calvary Heritage Baptist Church, Columbia Columbia Missouri beginning at 11:00 am.

Visitation will be held at Calvary Heritage Baptist Church on 06/20/2026 beginning at 10:30 am.
