Lennie Olin Amlin, Jr., of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #19, 315 Meadowbrook Cir, Gardner, KS 66030
Lennie was born on September 22, 1947, in Wheatland, Missouri, to Lennie Olin Amlin and Floey (Loveland) Amlin. He graduated from Lindale High School in 1966. Following graduation., he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served in the motor pool from 1966 to 1970.
On September 19, 1970, Lennie married the love of his life, Cheryl Renee Krumme, in Shawnee, Kansas. Together they built a loving family and shared more than five decades of marriage. Lennie dedicated over 40 years of service to Marley Cooling before retiring to spend more time with his family and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Lennie was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Lester Mark Amlin, Lovis Dale Amlin, and Lennita Amlin; and his niece, Brandy Amlin.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Cheryl (Krumme) Amlin; his daughters, Traci (Amlin) Gillihan-Hancock and Paula (Amlin) Flora; his son, Lennie Amlin; his grandchildren, Conner Gillihan, Mikayla Bogart, Donovan Gillihan, Brady Amlin Bogart, Brenna Gillihan, and Garrison Amlin; and his great-granddaughters, Elise May Hannah, Enna Pettinger, and Aiyana Pettinger. He is also survived by his sister, Lanora (Amlin) Ervin, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Lennie will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the quiet kindness he shared with those who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
