Allen Young Jr, a cherished companion, devoted father, and beloved grandfather, passed away on July 25, 2026, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on February 8, 1957, in Independence, Missouri, Allen was the son of Mary Catherine and Allen Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Lisa Young, with whom he shared nearly 35 beautiful years of marriage.
Allen spent his career as a skilled electrician and crane technician, earning the respect and admiration of those he worked with. Upon retiring, he dedicated his time to his passions and his family, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A man of warmth and generosity, Allen was a friend to everyone he encountered. He had a deep love for music, often seen playing the guitar with his brother, grandson, and friends. His collection of guitars was a testament to his lifelong love for music. Allen was also an avid sports fan, with a particular fondness for NASCAR, Kansas City Chiefs football, Kansas City Royals baseball, and the Missouri Tigers. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, and he cherished the time spent cheering on his favorite teams with family and friends.
Allen is survived by his children, Steve Rimmer (Elena), Megan Osborn (Joe), Jeremy Young, and Joseph Young, as well as his ten grandchildren: Hunter, Alex, Zoey, Liam, Kansas, Easton, Isaiah, Leon, Owen, and Archer. He is also survived by his siblings, Catherine Casey, Cynthia Webber, Claudia Hartness, Maggie Teifke, and Rob Young. His family and a wide circle of friends will remember him fondly for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his legacy of love and laughter will endure in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 6th, 2026 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Heartland Cremation & Burial, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64133. Burial will take place at Lobb Cemetery, 2525 Lobb Cemetery Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015 following the funeral. Please join the family after in celebrating Allen’s life at Buckner Town Hall, 32 S Sibley St, Buckner, MO 64016. Meats and drinks will be provided and bringing a side dish or dessert would be appreciated.
Allen was a great guy and he’ll be missed by all who’ve ever met him. I’m so sorry for his loss.

Uncle Allen was a great man. He will be missed. He was only 8 years older than me. I was his oldest nephew, and he has alot of nephews & nieces. I remember when I was 12 years old . I had long hair, And Uncle Allen had his long hair. I use ride on the back if his motorcycle with him. We would go over to his friends, & hang out. And they would play music on guitars together. Or they would have a full blown concert in the basement of their house . He made me fill special to be able to hang with him. LOVE YOU, & YOU WILL BE MISSED. REST IN PEACE.
