Teresa “Terri” Davis Speed

Teresa “Terri” Davis Speed, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at home on August 27, 2026. Terri was born on March 15, 1953, in Columbia, Missouri, to Charles Emmett and Betty Joe Davis.

A proud alumna of Hickman High School, Terri graduated in 1971, setting forth on a journey that would encompass not only a rich family life but also a profound love for the world around her. Her commitment to helping others was unmatched, and she possessed a remarkable ability to remember the small things that made a big difference in the lives of those she touched.

In 1985, Terri married the love of her life, Dylan Speed. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful children, Aaron and Alyson. Her family expanded with the arrival of her cherished grandchildren: Bradyn, Braylee, Malcolm, & Silvia.

She found joy in simple pleasures, such as curling up with a good book, enjoying the warmth of a sunny day, or savoring a hot cup of coffee. Her love for animals was evident in her compassionate care and concern for all creatures, great and small.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dylan. She is survived by her children, Aaron Speed and Alyson (Brady) Weter; her grandchildren, Bradyn Speed & Braylee Weter and Malcolm & Silvia Speed; and her siblings, Cindy Davis, Charles Davis, John (Marilyn) Davis, Corey Davis, and Marla Davis; as well as numerous close friends who she held close to her heart.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice Compassus for their exceptional care and support.

In honor of Terri’s memory, the family suggests that contributions be made to an organization that helps animals, reflecting her lifelong passion for their welfare.

Terri’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joy found in everyday moments. She will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought into the lives of those she touched.
