Charles Steven Walker, also known as Stevie, Charlie, Chas and Chuckie C, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026. He was 72 years old.
Charlie was born in Independence, Missouri to Bill and Virginia Walker. He grew up in Lee’s Summit and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School. He then went on to the school of life where he adventured to Mexico multiple times with his best friends before meeting Gloria, the amazonian love of his life, at Bakan Plastics where they both worked. They married in 1979 and shared 48 years together. They raised a son and a daughter.
Charlie was an introspective man who enjoyed the simple life with cultured pleasures. He spent his time indulgently immersing himself in music, books, movies and comics of all genres, within his library of his own making. He also loved fishing, live concerts, watching the 3 Stooges and WWE, grilling on holidays and traveling by train with his wife. He was hardworking with integrity, and enjoyed working in warehouses and driving fork trucks. He was proud to be in the Carpenter’s Union.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; his children, Christopher Walker (Kim) and Robyn Walker; brother, Michael Walker; two grandsons and many extended family and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Virginia Walker.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will follow at a later date. Please check back for an update.
Oh the memories of our Stevie! Good, happy, funny memories. The hours we (Stevie, Mike, Joyce and I) spent listening to the Beatles White Album, among other music related antics. Vacationing in Colorado and riding in the back of the Walkers’ station wagon (during our later years of grade school). Stevie’s freckles would pop and darken in the sun due to his Scottish genes. It makes me smile when I see Robyn and Stevie’s freckles on her face. Those were wonderful growing up times for us kids! We were lucky. Gloria, you amaze me by your strength and love of Stevie Charlie. You, Chris, Robyn and family are in my prayers as you navigate this transition time. God bless!

His sweet soul will be missed here on earth, but I know he’s a blessing in heaven.

Gloria, you are in my thoughts and prayers as well as your children and grandchildren. Charlie is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whole and complete. Oh how wonderful!

I have many memories of Steve/Charlie from our youth . So happy that we were able to reconnect at the Golden Reunion a few years ago . My condolences to you and your family Gloria . He was truly a great guy !
