Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute
Larry Wayne Jones was a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose life touched all who knew him. Born on August 7, 1960, to Lurana Oliver and Willie Jones, Sr., he treasured his family, held his faith close, and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother Lurana Williams, and William J. Williams.
One of the greatest blessings in Larry’s life was his beloved daughter Laryssia Jones, whom he loved dearly. Their special bond will remain an important part of his legacy, and their love will continue to live on in Laryssia’s heart.
Larry enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, fishing and spending time at the casino. He also shared wisdom, life lessons, and encouragement with his nieces, nephews, and family, offering guidance to help them learn, grow, and make the most of every opportunity.
Throughout his working life, Larry dedicated himself to serving others. He worked for Women and Children First in Arkansas before returning to Kansas City, where he continued his career with the Belton School District.
Above all, Larry had a relationship with God, and his faith was an important part of his life. His loved ones can find comfort in God’s promises and in the hope and peace that faith provides.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory his father Willie D. Jones, Sr. (Georgia Jones); his beloved daughter Laryssia Jones; siblings Willie Jones, Jr; Valerie Winfield; Darrell Jones; and Demetruis Jones (Emily Jones). He also leaved cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Larry’s kindness, wisdom, and joyful spirit will continue to inspire his family. The precious moments they shared will be treasured always.
Rest peacefully, Larry Wayne Jones. Your earthly journey has ended, but your love, wisdom, and memory will live on. May you rest in God’s eternal peace.

I only knew Mr. Larry when we worked at Grace together one summer, but in the short amount of time I knew him, he brought so much laughter to my life! He was full on joy and jokes and always had a smile on his face. He was a wonderful person to be around.
