Lillith McAfee

Lillith Mae McAfee, 82, of Orrick, MO, passed away September 14, 2004, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 17, at Gowing Funeral Home Chapel in Orrick, MO. No funeral service. Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to Orrick Fire & Rescue or Ray County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Lill was born September 20, 1921 in rural Orrick, MO to Rit Madison and Ethel Clevenger Duncan, who preceded her in death. Lill was one of ten children, two of which survive. On September 16, 1937 she was united in marriage to Willis Washington McAfee also of Orrick, MO. Four children were born, three of which survive, Shirley Maupin Brown of Orrick, MO, Mary Beth Payne of Richmond, MO and Rick A. McAfee of Lee’s Summit, MO. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Marvin and Lucille Duncan of rural Lawson, MO and Billy Dean and Pat Duncan of Elkhorn, NE. Lill is also survived by eight grandchildren, Debra Kathlene Maupin Henton, Robert Dean Maupin Jr., Jake Erin Brown, Deana Lynn Adams, Janet Hessenflo, Melissa Everette, Rachel Richards and Amanda Bowers; 14 great-grandchildren, James Willis (Jamie) Schmidt, Courtney Lynn Adams, Natalie Rae Adams, Christopher Allen Hessenflo, Ryan Scott Hessenflo, Payton Nickole Everette, Kennedy Rae Everette, Mason Anthony Richards, Jackson Lee Richards, Coleson Allen Richards, Allyssa Marie Bowers, Blake Alexander Bowers, Samantha Arlene Brown and David Robert Brown; and one great-great-grandchild, Rylee Rae Adams. Lill was a member of the Baptist Church, the Ray County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and a lifetime member of Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond, MO. Besides her husband and son, Willis Keith McAfee, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Temple Lavern Coats, Madeline Duncan Fisher, Catherine Elizabeth Sims and Donna Faye Duncan Curry; three brothers, Raymond Clevenger, Otha Farris Duncan and James Oliver Duncan; and one grandson, Ricky Keith Maupin. Lill was a homemaker and owned Lill’s Cafe in Orrick, MO for 25+ years. Lill will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
