Max L. McIntyre, 66, of Raytown, MO, passed away on Dec. 8, 2005. Max and his wife, Marcia, moved to the Kansas City Metro Area, from Ramstein, Germany, 28 years ago. Max was born April 18, 1939, in Ashland, KS, the only child of Maurice and Thelma McIntyre of Coldwater, KS. Max graduated from Fort Hays State College in 1961, with a BA in History. He married Marcia Brann in Hays, KS, on June 3, 1961. He joined the Air Force in 1963, and left as a Major in 1977. His military career never really ended though, as he worked as a civil servant for the Marine Corps for another 19 years. His Volunteer efforts included the Raytown Emergency Assistance Program (R.E.A.P.), Raytown recycling, and “Bridging the Gap” recycling. Max was preceded in death by his parents, 7 uncles, 2 aunts, and 2 cousins. He is survived by his wife, Marcia, of the home; 2 daughters, Melissa Wolcott (Steven) of Dayton, OH, and Melinda Walk (Terry) of Sedalia, MO; an AFS daughter, Dorren McMahon, Ph.D. (Kevin Denny, Ph.D.) of Dublin, Ireland; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie and Shannon Walk of Sedalia, MO, and Christopher, Zachary, Mackenzie, and Nicholas Wolcott, all of Dayton, OH; and 2 great-grandchildren, Audrie and Cameron of Sedalia. Also, 4 brothers-in-law, Randall Brann of Great Bend, KS, Bradley Brann of Kansas City, MO, Stewart Brann of Tuxedo, NY, and Douglas Brann (Ann) of Shawnee, KS; 3 nephews, and 1 niece. There will be a memorial service, Dec. 26, at 11 a.m., in Raytown, at the Heartland Cremation Chapel, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd. A graveside service at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS, will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to R.E.A.P. Building Fund.
