William True

Bill True, 51, Overland Park, Kan., died September 9, 2007, while swimming at Navarre Beach Florida. Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, September 15, at Prairie Baptist Church, 75th and Roe, Prairie Village Kansas. Instead of flowers please send a donation check payable to: FFCC Softball Endowment Fund c/o Fort Scott Community College, 2108 S. Horton Fort Scott, KS 66701. Bill was born in Salina, Kansas, but lived a great life in the Kansas City area. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and attended K-State University Manhattan. He loved his wife, Cheryl and his two beautiful daughters, Megan and Emily. Bill enjoyed golf, dogs, gardening, the KC Chiefs, all KState sports and had a passion for girls softball. He worked with and coached both daughters, developing them into excellent softball players. Bill worked hard for 29 years at General Motors Fairfax Plant. They will have to hire three people to replace him at GM. He was a loving husband and best friend to Cheryl, his wife of 25 years. She and his daughters Megan and Emily will miss him very, very much. Bill is survived by his wife Cheryl, Overland Park; his daughters Emily, Fort Scott Kansas and Megan, Nanjing China; a sister Jean Michelson of Huntington, Indiana; a brother Don True of Austin, Texas and a loving mother, Evelyn True of Lenexa, Kansas.
