Ronald Edward Lyon, 55, Independence, MO passed away October 9, 2007 at home. Visitation will be held 6-7:30 PM, Thursday Oct. 11, 2007 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO. Military graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, Oct 12 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
Ronald was born January 4, 1952 in Kansas City, MO. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Ronald was a heavy equiptment operator of Kissick Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Mildred Lyon. Survivors include: wife of 34 years, Mary Lyon; brother & sister in law, Russel & Helen Lyon, Gladstone, MO; sisters & brothers in law, Sandra & Jim Duncan, Higginsville, MO, Anita & Ben Eaton, Independence, MO; sister, Pam Jones, Kansas City, MO; son & daughter in law, Daniel & Victoria Lyon, Independence, MO; step son, David Freeman, Independence, MO; step daughters, Debby Webster, St. Joseph, MO, Angel & husband, Mike Berry, Springfield, MO; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Ronald will be remembered by his love of fishing, hunting, leather-craft & playing with his grandchildren. (arr. Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 816-313-1677)

    As a kid, Uncle Ron had the ability to make some nonsense sound so magical and factual that a person had to believe it. I remember thinking he was the smartest man alive…then Mom and Dad would tell me the truth as Ron chuckled from the sidelines!
