I had the privelege of working with Val at Comprehensive Mental Health Services. She opened the door to my current career and for that I am thankful. She was a good person and an advocate for those in need. My condolences.

Maren, Jay and Huston…your mom was so awesome and she loved you guys so very much. It was always so funny when we would meet and play catch up on what you guys and our guys were up to. She was the most accepting and level person…it just hurts that she is gone. She did an incredible job of raising you all and I know she is tremendously proud of you and will continue to watch over you. Please let us know if we can do anything for you all. Smile and laugh with her, she is still with you. Much love to you, Mary and Greg

I’ll always remember Aunt Val for the love she showed me from the first moment we met. Technically I only knew her for six years, but because she was so caring and helped me so much it was like I had known her all my life. I will miss Aunt Val, and I will carry her memory in my heart forever.

Rest in peace Aunt Val, I love you!

What a terrible loss. She was a true friend and colleague, especially on our city’s Human Rights Commission where I was honored to serve with her a number of years.
And my heart goes out particularly to good-buddy Huston, who loved to come with Mom to the Martin Luther King birthday breakfast… and then became part of the entertainment.
I hope to see you at the Funeral Saturday.
    Grieving, -DHF

I will miss Aunt Val so much. She always took the time to talk and listen. Always had sensible advise, encouragement, laughter and kind words. I only got to know her in the last 6 years but my heart aches for the her joy and light that is no longer with us. She left us too soon.
    I love you Aunt Val.

It was with sadness and disbelief when I read of Valetas’ passing. She was always so easy going, kind, and interested in how others were doing. The entire Snell family was always very special to me. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this sad time. Heaven has added a new precious angel! Our loving father in Heaven will give each of you strength to face the difficult days ahead.
    Most Sincerely,

Val’s Memorial was, like her, warm and comforting; providing a little time to mourn and start healing. I will miss my Sista-friend! Knowing she is resting in the arms of Jesus brings me comfort. GOD Bless!
