Timothy O’Mailia

Timothy Michael O’Mailia of Kansas City, Mo., passed away October 22, 2009, after a brave battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born Sept. 21, 1959, in Kansas City. He served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years and served in the Gulf War. He was employed at Columbia Burlap & Bag in North Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by a son, Brendon Michael, his mother, Virginia R. Dutro of Shawnee Mission, Kan., a brother, Edward (Kyeong Sook) Brewer of Omaha, Neb., sisters, Diane L. (Johnny) Schwirtz of Shawnee, Kan., Patricia A. Morrison of Kansas City, Kathleen A. (Jody) Slaughter of Olathe, Kan., Michelle D. Mallory of the home; 11 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews. Timothy’s wonderful sense of humor and generous heart will be missed by all who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, inurnment at Leavenworth National Cemetery will follow at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 5901 Flint Shawnee, KS or K.U.
