Helen Meinholdt

 A graveside memorial service for Helen Lucille Meinholdt, 79, Lawrence, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mrs. Meinholdt died Thursday, April 8, 2010, from Parkinson’s disease. She was born Dec. 10, 1930, in Lamoni, Iowa, the daughter of Emmit and Hazel Morgan.  She graduated from Washburn University.  Mrs. Meinholdt worked as an administrative assistant at Kansas University, retiring in 1995.   She was an accomplished quilter.  She married George Meinholdt on Aug. 11, 1951, in Alma. He survives.  Other survivors include four daughters, Joyce Overeem, The Dalles, Ore., Connie Meinholdt, Big Rapids, Mich., Deborah Meinholdt, Alexandria, Va., and Sharon Meinholdt, Lawrence; three grandchildren, Emily and Katherine Rowe and Ala Wyrick; and a great-grandchild, Gavin Wyrick Taylor. The family suggests memorials to the National Parkinson’s Foundation or the Douglas County Rehabilitation, Nurses and Hospice Care.
