Ross Clemensen

Ross M. Clemensen, 91, of Independence, MO passed away Feb 12,  2011 at home.  Mr. Clemensen was born Nov 2, 1919 in Nevada, MO to Peter & Naomi Clemensen.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ruth (Ralston) and daughter, Judy Hegland.  Survivors inlcude a son, Mike (Betty) Clemensen, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. 

Ross retired after 25 years with the Boeing company, spending the last five of those years in the northwest states as a missile site inspector.  After retiring, he and wife, Ruth, purchased and ran a resort in western Montana for several years. In his teen years, Ross was a dance instructor.  After retirement, he was part of a seniors tap dancing group that entertained throughout the state of Montana.  Ross and Ruth raised their family in Wichita, Kansas and in later years, Ross was an active Shriner.

Per Ross’ wishes, there will be no funeral, but a celebration of his life will be held at the Regency Manor apartments in Independence, Missouri.  Ross happily resided at the Regency for the last eleven years and felt that the neighbors and friends he had there truly made it home for him. Everyone who knew him is invited Saturday, March 12, at 10:00 am in the Regency meeting room to share pictures and stories.

 

Ross will be cremated and his ashes sent to Helena, Montana to be with those of his wife, Ruth.

    Regency Manor will not be the same without Ross. I’ve always enjoyed seeing him when I come to visit my mother who lives there. RIP Ross
