THEO E. BOYD

Theo E. Boyd entered a new facet of life at age 77 on 6/4/12. Theo was born in Seminole, Oklahoma 10/15/34 to Hazel and Gordon Boyd. He attended Graceland College and Northeastern Oklahoma State University and earned his Masters Degree at L.S.U. He married Donna Garvin 12/7/57. They had a daughter, Viki and a son Ted. He is missed by his wife Donna, daughter Viki, granddaughter Jesse Grechus, grandson Joshua Stoll, Joshua’s wife Jen, great grandchildren Evan Hayakawa Stoll and Alex Abram Stoll, as well as his daughter-in-law Kay Boyd and step father Lawrence R. Clark. Theo was an actor, a professor, an author, public speaker and Christian magician. He worked with Neighborhood Councils in Independence and taught job skills to prisoners as a volunteer. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for over 50 years. Theo was an elder in the Community of Christ Church and did missionary work in South Louisiana, Mexico and Santiago Chili. He is best known for his dramatic presentations of men from scripture and history, which he preformed throughout the United States and in Canada. There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday, June 17th at 7:00 pm at the New Walnut Park Congregation at 1137 South Pearl, in Independence, MO.
