Helen R Parker

Helen R Parker of Kansas City Missouri passed from this world on  October 17th 2012. Helen was a free spirit, and she lived her life by her own rules.  In her adult life she had worked as a administrative assistant in Kansas City and then in Houston Texas.  She finally retired when she was in her late 70s from the Houston Fire Dept after 30 years of “wonderful service”. She loved to travel and explore new places and could usually be found in Europe or Hawaii at least once a year.  She said that Rome was her favorite place in all the world.  She was a passionate shopper, and her home was decorated with the many souvenirs she had acquired in her travels. She also  was a life long learner; going to concerts, museums, art exhibits and was an avid reader of all subjects.

Helen was born and raised in Kansas City and graduated from The Loretto Academy. She met and married Clifford Franklin Parker in 1950 and is survived by their children:Patricia Hinson, Mary Goulding, Kathleen Thomson, Timothy Parker, and Margaret Parker.  Helen has 5 grandchildren: Christine, Sarah, Stephen, Meghan, and Bonnie.  There are also 5 great-grand sons: Cade, Reid, Jacob, Ryan, and Christopher Jr. Her husband Cliff passed away in 1987.  Private services will be held a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to  North Kansas City Hospice.
