Tom Kolkmeier

Thomas H. Kolkmeier, 61, currenty of Harrisonville, MO formerly of Knob Noster, MO passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his residence.  Tom was the middle child of 13 children, born August 3, 1951 in St. Charles, Missouri, Son of Alfred W. and Irene J. (Horstmeier) Kolkmeier.  He received his B.S. in Agronomy and Horticulture from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  He was united in marriage to Joyce K. Shay on November 9, 1974 in Kansas City and had four children together.  Tom enjoyed the outdoors, he especially liked fishing, gardening, and tending his fruit trees.  He also enjoyed baking homemade bread and pies and watching the Royals, Chiefs, and any sport MIZZOU was playing on TV.

Survivors include four children: Melissa Barton and husband, Justin of Independence, MO; Nathan Kolkmeier of Knob Noster, MO; Justin Kolkmeier and wife, Rebecca of Liberty, MO; and Autumn Kolkmeier of Rolla, MO; three grandchildren: Emma, Sarah and Ryan Barton; and a brand new grandbaby boy due this July from Justin and Rebecca.   Seven brothers: Daniel and wife Teresa, Jim and wife Leslie, Wesley and wife Sharon, Stanley and wife Joy, Leon, Calvin and wife Lita, and Chris and wife Kelly and five sisters: Lavonne and husband John Loscuito, Martha Cooley, June Kolkmeier, Joan and husband Kurt Busch, and Alvyne and husband Dale Scheperle, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife.

A Rememberance Gathering will be held at the Kolkmeier family home Saturday, February 23, 2013, in St. Charles, MO.
