Barbara E Smith

Barbara E Smith, 76, Kansas City, Missouri passed away December 8, 2015.  A visitation will be held 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Friday, December 11, 2015 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Missouri.  A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM.

Barbara was born August 8, 1939 in Paulsboro, New Jersey.  She grew up in Paulsboro, New Jersey and joined the Air Force and moved to Louisiana.  After she married, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised her family.  Barbara worked for Leisure Corporation, a hotel chain.  Starting out as a housekeeper and working her way up to hotel manager, were she remained for many years.  She retired in Kansas City to be closer to her boys.  The rest of the family relocated to Kansas City in later years.

She was preceded in death by: mother and father; daughter; Sandra Lee; granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Smith;  and sister, Frannie.  Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Donnie & Sophie Smith, Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Nancy Smith, Sheridan, Arkansas; sons & daughters-in-law, Jeff & Dawn Smith, Kansas City, Missouri, Stuart & Dana Smith, Raymore, Missouri; sisters, Pat Davis, Mounds, Oklahoma, Ronnie Strang, Mounds, Oklahoma, Wheezie Clayman, New Jersey; twelve grandchildren, eighteen grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and her big cat, Dicey.
