Marilyn Rose Davis

Marilyn Rose Matheis Davis, 76 of Waverly, Lexington and Braymer, Missouri passed away January 20, 2017.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Waverly Baptist Church, Waverly, Missouri.  Burial in Waverly.

Marilyn was born August 10, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was raised and graduated high school in 1958 in Buckner, Missouri.  Marilyn lived most of her adult life in Missouri, mostly in Independence, Waverly, Lexington and Braymer.  She spent several years in Florida in the 90s.  Marilyn was a homemaker with exceptional skills for sewing, gardening, preserving and computers.  She was an active member in the many Baptist churches she attended in the communities where she lived.  Even though Marilyn had many struggles in this life, her favorite hymn remained “Victory In Jesus.”  Victory was indeed displayed in her life as she overcame many challenges.  The family thanks Golden Age Nursing Home for their loving care during this life.

She is preceded in death by: father, Herman Matheis; mother, Marguerite Streeter Matheis;  daughter, Marietta Merrifild Orender; brothers, John Matheis and Gene Matheis.

Survivors include; son, Scott Merrifield of Higginsville Missouri; daughters, Christy Davis Ferguson of Midland, Michigan, Stacey Davis of Morgan Hill, California, Tania Davis Hagie of North Ft Myers, Florida; son, Quentin “Sam” Davis of Independence, Missouri; sister, Jennie Matheis Wilson of Lehigh Acres, FL;  grandchildren, Mary Orender Lovelace, Ryan Merrifield, Grace Hunt Ferguson, Esther Ferguson, Twila Ferguson, Christian Davis, Allison Hagie, Blake Hagie, Courtney Davis, Caleb Davis, Chase Davis, Chelsea Davis, Chloe Davis, and great-grandchildren, Timothy and Andrew Lovelace.
