Helen S. Betts, 96, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away February 18, 2017 at Brookdale of Overland Park Senior Living. A memorial celebration will be held at 2PM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Unity of Kansas City North, 1000 NE Barry Road, KCMO 64155. Helen was born January 10, 1921 in the Bronx.
Helen and George Betts were married at West Point Military Academy Chapel in June of 1943. They were active members at Unity Village. She enjoyed Women of Myrtle Filmore, bingo, red hatters, square dancing, and a book club at Unity. Helen lived in Lee’s Summit for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by husband George, mother and father Rose and Trofim, and son George Betts, Jr.
She is survived by daughter Cindy (Larry) Turner, son John Betts, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions suggested to the ALS foundation.
