Carla Sue Buckallew

Carla Sue Buckallew passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 surrounded by loved ones and family at her home in Buckner, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 26 at 7:00 PM at the Heart of God Fellowship, 3720 N Buckner Tarsney Rd, Buckner, Missouri. The family will greet friends at the church from 5:00pm until the time of the service.

For all eighty-three years of her life, Sue brought much love and laughter to the lives of her friends and family. The youngest of three children, she was born to Byron and Hilda (Haines) Whitmore in Seymour, Iowa on July 3, 1934. Sue graduated from Seymour High School in 1952 and married Bill Buckallew on March 14, 1952.

They moved to Buckner, Missouri in 1962 where they raised their five children. Sue was always very involved with her children and enjoyed attending their sporting events and activities. Her home was where all the neighborhood kids would often gather to have fun and play. She was also a very proud grandmother who never hesitated to brag on her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Sue was happiest when her whole family was together laughing and having fun.

Left to honor her memory: is her companion and loving husband of 65 years, Bill Buckallew; her elder sister, Jean Ray; her five children, Randy (Dawn) Buckallew, Ronnie (Julie) Buckallew, Rhonda Shoemaker, Rhama (Jacob) Weber, and Rheta (Dan) Terry; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue was preceded by her parents and sister Jerry Green. Sue will be remembered for her love of God, family, and her joyous outlook on life.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Crossroads hospice for their attentive care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Sue’s name to the Heart of God Fellowship in support of the Kingdom Kids.
