Memorial Services held on July 14th 2018 at Excelsior Springs Baptist Church Graveside services held at Salem Cemetery, west of Galt, MO.

Who Am I My name is Forrest DeWayne Hessenflow, I was born at Cullers Hospital in Trenton, Missouri on Monday April 26th, 1954 at 10:15 AM to the proud parents of Kenneth Paul and Marilyn Kay Hessenflow and oh they were so very happy to see me, I weighed in at a whopping 9lbs. 2oz. and was 20 inches Long.

I was Baptized when I was 13 at Victory Temple in Kansas City Mo. I was 64 years young when God called me home to be with my parents in Heaven.

We moved to Independence, Missouri when I was about a year old where we lived for 63 years. I attended R.J. Delano School till I graduated in 1972. After graduation I started working for IBS (a sheltered work center for the disabled) I worked there for 24 years till I retired in 1996. Yea Me, time to relax!!!

I loved life … I had so many different loves in my life, of course my family.

Antique cars, my most favourite thing was stock car racing, I could tell you every drivers name, their car number and most of their stats. My favorite drivers was Mark Martin, and Dale Earnhardt until his passing. “Then I had to go and find me another driver”, I finally decided it had to be A. J. Allmendinger.

I also loved Football, and oh how I loved yelling at the T.V. at some of them guys. It was like “come on you idiot you could have caught that ball” or “who the heck do you think you were throwing that to”… LOL.

Kenny and Fran would always take me out and go eat at a restaurant, not for some special event or anything, usually it was just to get out, and if I didn’t get to go with them they would always bring me back something special to eat. I loved my brother and sister….

I loved summer time because that meant, that Jimmie, Jeff and Toad were taking me to Worlds of Fun, we always had so much fun. The boys especially liked it because they let us go straight to the front of the line and ride the rides as many times as we wanted. We had a blast on the rides and looking at the girls…..

I loved my whole family, and of course the family dinners and being able to socialize with everyone. We would often go visit Sheryl’s and have supper I loved her fresh homemade hot rolls.

No one ever treated me like I was handicapped I was just another member of the family.

Every August we would go to the family reunion and camp the whole weekend, I loved camping and being outside, then on Sunday we would go and eat dinner by the lake. There was always a lot of stories, “lots of good company and a lot of good food”. After dinner Gary and some of the others would play their instruments and sing and they might not have been able to understand me but they never stopped me from joining in they “always” let me sing along. I loved to sing with them… Family dinners were always a

good time for me!

“Have you noticed every time I go somewhere it seems like I am always talking about food?” lol

Christmas was a real special time for me, with all the nieces and nephews and other family members gathered at Don and Jessica’s for the feast. Oops I mentioned food again…. I loved sitting there watching the lights twinkle and flash on the Christmas decorations. We would always make special outings to go through the neighborhoods and look at all the Christmas light, and yes again we almost always stopped to get something to eat and drink.

“Eating again!” LOL

At home Alice would always check on me to make sure that I had everything I needed and say “I love you bro” and give me a big hug.

I loved all of my family from my brother and sister, aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews and all my cousins, each and every one of you were very near and dear to my heart…. So many memories and not enough time to tell them all.

I just want you know that I loved each and everyone of you that are reading this and I will miss you just like you will miss me.

I Love You, DeWayne
