Marilyn Louise Young, age 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at St. Lukes East Hospital in Lee’s Summit Missouri while surrounded by family. Marilyn was born November 24, 1945 in Windsor, Missouri, the daughter of Dean and Chloe Baskins. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking trips with her niece Lori. She was preceded in death by two brothers Jim Baskins of Baldwin, KS and Roy Baskins of Independence, MO.
Marilyn is survived by her brother Donald Baskins and his wife Tammy of Springfield, MO, daughter Kelly Smith and her husband Kenny of Lee’s Summit, MO, son Jeff Young and his wife Tracey of Independence, MO, grandchildren Jennifer Cassel, Laine Cartee, Alec Smith, Tyler Young, Kelsey Young, four great grandchildren, eight nieces, four nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews, relatives and close friends.
A memorial visitation will be held at Royer’s New Salem, 1823 N Blue Mills Road, Independence from 6:00pm-7:30 pm on Thursday, August 30, 2018.
