Mary Jane Devine

Mary Jane Devine, 64, of Independence, Missouri passed away on January 17, 2019 at home after a short illness. A memorial service will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, Raytown, Missouri. Ms. Devine was born on November 13, 1954 in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Mary was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City Metro area. She was born in Chillicothe and came to Kansas City with her family in the 60’s. She went to high school for a short time in Marceline, Missouri, but spent most of her high school years at West High School, Kansas City, Missouri. She then went on to Rockhurst College. Mary spent most of her adult life working for the IRS and Social Security Administration. She met the love of her life, Sherrie Scott, and spent more recent years enjoying retirement with her till her death.

She was preceded in death by her mother Pearl C. Devine, her father Frances Thomas Devine, sister Kay, brother Joe and her beloved partner Sherri Scott.

Survivors include brother Bernie (Texas), brother Paul Devine (Gower, MO), sister Elizabeth Ann (Independence, MO), and many nieces and nephews.
