James Michael Turk, 79, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 17, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 615 SE Todd George Parkway, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00am.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Turk and mother, Margueritte. Jim was born on June 25, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Maryland Heights High School and was a star basketball player.
He served in the United States Navy on the USS Randolph for 4 years. Jim had a passion for hot rods and fishing. He loved the outdoors and building things with his hands. He worked for the vending food service industry for forty years. Later, he became a driver for Brinks before he retired for good.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marilyn Turk; daughter, Marilee Turk; son, Michael Turk and wife Amanda; daughter, Kimberly Turk Risher and husband Brandon; stepmother, Katie Jobe; three brothers, David Turk and wife Sandy, Jerry Turk and wife Val, Joe Turk and wife Theresa; one sister, Mary Gherst; and four grandchildren.
