Mary Carol Schmidt, 54, of Belton, MO. passed away July 31, 2020 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
Mary Carol was born in Kansas City, MO and was a descendant of the Schmidt and Haun families of Nebraska and Colorado and the Banning families of Missouri. She worked in the printing industry her entire life. She was an executive at Kinko’s and the Director of Operations at Corporate Document Services (CDS). She loved snow skiing, cooking, her many pets throughout the years and Kansas City Chiefs football.
She was preceded in death by her mother Billie Joyce Carlson (KS), her grandparents Harold and Hannah (Haun) Schmidt (CO) and Noble and Dorothy (Banning) Stewart (MO), her great grandparents Jacob and Marie Haun (CO) and Thomas and Alma Mae Banning (MO), her mother-in-law Margaret Mitchell (KS) and her sister-in-law Deborah Spears (MO)
She is survived by her wife Cynthia Mitchell (MO), father Ronald Schmidt (Verona) (NM), sister Stephanie Dierking (MO), brother Charles Schmidt (Sherry) their children Aaron and Jacob (NM), and sister Diana Carlson (Scott Cahill) their child Adrienne Chitwood (WA), aunt Martha Kean (Ralph) (MO), aunt Sharon Stahla (CO), uncle Stuart Schmidt (Therese) (NV), sister-in-law Beverly Johnson (Robert) (CO), nephews Mark Johnson (KS), Brian Johnson (CO), James Spears, (MO) and Sean Spears (MO), extended family members Cynthia Meyerhoefer (AL) and Judy Adams (PA), and many other loved ones, cousins, colleagues, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, 16808 Holmes Rd. Belton, MO 64012. The service will also be streamed on the St Mary Magdalene Facebook page (www.facebook.com/saintmarymag).
The family is grateful to St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church and to the Sharon Cemetery Association for their generous donations.

What a sad day it was when I heard Mary Carol died…..such a brilliant woman. I always loved encountering her (as her dentist and otherwise).
That mischievous way she had of engaging with me was truly unique

I am at a loss for words to convey how sad I feel for this devastating loss. Mary was so much a part of your life from the very beginning. The two of you were meant to be together and I am glad I was able to help you with that.
May she rest in peace until you are joined together again. Remember the smiles, the laughter and all the times you shared. Love conquers all.
