Harold L. Mauller

Harold L. Mauller, 95, of Columbia, MO, passed away on February 28, 2021 at his home, from natural causes. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.

He was born on July 5, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Gustav and Stella Mauller. He was united in marriage to Adele Kamm Mauller on February 26, 1949, who preceded him in death on October 29, 2015.

He attended Central Methodist College for one year and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to college, he enlisted and joined the United States Navy January 11, 1943, where he later served on the U.S.S. Apagon in the Pacific Theater. He worked at Wilson’s Meat Packing Company as a USDA Meat Grader for many years until the company closed. He was a Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 280, Columbia, MO and a member of World War II Submariners, Muddy MO Chapter. He was also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Columbia.

Throughout his full and long life, and even up until the last few years, Harold passionately used his agricultural skills and multiple talents in farming, raising cattle, chickens, sheep, and horses. He treasured the memories he created tending to his farms, beloved animals and family.

Harold is survived by his sister: Darlene Kellison (St. Louis), and his four children: Harold L. Mauller II (Connie), Paul Mauller, Rebecca Wischmeyer (Kim), and David Mauller all of Columbia; three grandchildren: Tonya Mauller (Kentucky), Harold “Buzz” Mauller III (Columbia), and Dennis Payne II (Gladstone); and six great-grandchildren: Jacob Newell (North Carolina), Abby Pauley (Columbia), Harold “Brock” Mauller IV (Columbia), and Dennis III, Freddie, & Adelee Payne (Gladstone).

He is preceded in death by his father: Gustav; mother: Stella; brothers: William Mauller (St. Louis) and Ralph Mauller (Virginia); and stepbrothers: Gustav Mauller II (St. Louis) and Lee Mauller (California state).
